Adoption

The Adoption Application process has several stages to ensure our huskies are going to qualified, educated, loving forever homes.  

  1. Apply online or complete a PDF application (adoption application (pdf)).  PDF Applications can be emailed to Contact@texashuskyrescue.org, faxed to 1-877-894-8759, or mailed to PO Box 118891, Carrollton, TX 75011.
  2. Once your application is received, we will conduct a thorough screening process which includes a vet check. 
  3. After you have been initially approved and your vet check was completed successfully, TXHR will conduct a Fence/Home Check.  We check for gaps, broken slats, holes, compromised spots, etc where a husky could escape from.  Please do a walk of the perimeter of your fence and fix all problem spots before we come to your home.  
  4. Upon successful completion of the application process, a TXHR Adoption Counselor will set up a meet and greet with you and the dog you have applied for.  Once you determine you would like to adopt the dog, you must sign an Adoption Application and pay the adoption fee before taking possession of the dog.  
  5. All adoptions start with a 5 day trial period to ensure the dog is a good fit in your home and with your lifestyle.

Fostering

The Foster Application process has several stages to ensure our huskies are being placed in the most qualified and safe foster homes.  

  1. Complete a foster application (pdf) and then you can: email it to  Contact@texashuskyrescue.org, fax it to 1-877-894-8759, or mail it to PO Box 118891, Carrollton, TX 75011.
  2. Once your application is received, we conduct a thorough screening process which includes a vet check (a vet check is required). 
  3. After you have been initially approved and your vet check was completed successfully, TXHR will conduct a Fence/Home Check.  We check for gaps, broken slats, holes, compromised spots, etc where a husky could escape from.  Please do a walk of the perimeter of your fence and fix all problem spots before we come to your home.  
  4. Upon successful completion of the Application process, a TXHR representative will contact you to get more details on what foster dog would do best in your home environment.  
  5. Before a foster dog can be placed in your home, a Foster Contract must be signed and a Foster Manual will be provided.
